A panel on German forestry and the German forestry education system was held in the conference hall of our General Directorate, with the participation of our General Director Bekir Karacabey, former General Director Osman Kahveci, former Dean of the Faculty of Forestry at the University of Freiburg in Germany Prof. Dr. Jurgen Huss, and Dr. Germar Csapek.
In his opening speech, our General Director, Bekir Karacabey, said, “We are pleased to host distinguished German scientists who served as technical consultants in the Turkish-German Forestry Project between 1987 and 2000 and made significant contributions to the development of Turkish forestry. As an institution that sustainably increases the country's forested areas, we never refrain from contributing to global forestry and benefiting from the innovative practices of international forestry."
Prof. Dr. Jurgen Huss, former Dean of the Faculty of Forestry at the University of Freiburg in Germany, delivered a presentation on the German forestry system. At the same time, Dr. Germar Csapek gave a presentation on the German forestry education system.
