In the workshop, it was stated that the Murat River Basin
Rehabilitation Project, which was completed in 2022 within the scope of
the ongoing partnerships between IFAD and our country, was successfully
completed. It was decided that the Euphrates River
Basin Rehabilitation Project will be started in the new IFAD Country
Strategic Opportunities Program (COSOP) period next year and that the
well-functioning partnership with IFAD will continue to improve the
living conditions of the people living in rural areas
and forest villages.
It was emphasized that Turkey has shown significant economic growth
in the last 20 years and that poverty in rural areas has decreased, and
that the developments towards the transition to high-income country
status will be monitored together in the upcoming
COSOP period. In the last part of the workshop, group work was conducted
to find answers to various questions and the findings were shared with
the participants. After the workshop, the International Fund for
Agricultural Development (IFAD) delegation visited
our General Manager Bekir Karacabey in his office and consulted on the
projects.
