11/3/2025 A+ A-

In line with sustainable development goals, the Seyhan and Ceyhan Integrated Watershed Rehabilitation Project (S&CEHRP) has been launched between our General Directorate and the French Development Agency (AFD) to prevent the degradation of natural resources, improve the living conditions of villagers residing in the upper parts of micro-watersheds, and support investments aimed at increasing their income sources.

The project covers 43 districts in the provinces of Adana, Kayseri, Niğde, Kahramanmaraş, Osmaniye, and Sivas, located within the Seyhan and Ceyhan River Basins and within the responsibility areas of the Adana, Kayseri, and Kahramanmaraş Regional Forest Directorates. The total project area spans approximately 4.15 million hectares.

A kick-off meeting for the preparation of the Feasibility Report was held at our General Directorate to review the project methodology, work plan, timeline, division of tasks and responsibilities, and to define the scope and prioritization matrix for the field study.

The meeting, hosted by our institution, was attended by representatives of the French Development Agency (AFD), the relevant regional directors, and officials from internal and external stakeholder units.
