Preparations and measures for the 2026 wildfire season were reviewed during the meeting held in Antalya.
The meeting, chaired by General Director of Forestry Bekir Karacabey, was attended by Deputy General Director, the Head of the Department of Fighting Forest Fire, the Head of the Department of Aviation, Regional Directors of Forestry, and Branch Managers responsible for fighting forest fire.
During the meeting, discussions focused on wildfire response efforts, coordination among teams, the effective deployment of aerial and ground resources, seasonal precautionary measures, and ensuring that teams remain in a constant state of readiness.
In his remarks, General Director of Forestry Bekir Karacabey emphasized that the primary objective in combating wildfires is to prevent them from occurring and stated:
“Our greatest hope in combating wildfires is that no fires occur at all. In line with this objective, we are taking all necessary precautions and keeping our teams ready to respond at all times. I wish for a fireless and safe season."
