As the General Directorate of Forestry, we are implementing projects to create safe and sustainable living spaces using wooden carrier systems in the regions affected by the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, 2023.
Housing and service buildings constructed with wooden carrier systems are preferred due to their light, natural, healthy, energy-efficient, high earthquake performance, renewable, and carbon emission-reducing features. Wooden carrier systems, used intensively in countries such as the USA, Canada, Japan and Australia with these advantages, are also becoming widespread in our country.
As the General Directorate of Forestry, we have completed the construction of the administrative buildings and lodging buildings belonging to the Hatay Hassa Forest Management Directorate and Pazarcık Forest Management Directorate in the first stage within the project. Hatay Forest Regional Directorate lodgings are also one of the ongoing projects and are being built with a modular system with wooden carriers. The difference in this construction is the lodging buildings that are produced in modular units in the factory and then these units are assembled on the construction site. With this system, the buildings can be completed faster and more serially.
As the General Directorate of Forestry, our efforts to popularize earthquake-resistant, healthy and environmentally friendly buildings will continue without slowing down.
