With the project on enhancing the resilience of forestry to climate change (IDOP) implemented by the General Directorate, we support our forest villagers in increasing their sources of income. We encourage our citizens through projects including microcredit, grant, and loan support, which are implemented in 14 provinces within the boundaries of 9 regional directorates of forestry. A characteristic feature of the IDOP project is to increase women's participation in economic life. Women find an opportunity to establish and develop their businesses, by taking advantage of the various supports provided within the project as a priority. In this way, the project aims to strengthen the social and economic role of women living in forest villages.
The sub-project within the scope of IDOP offers many important supports such as greenhouse farming, tractor support, technical beekeeping, microcredit, exterior cladding, roof covering, animal husbandry, solar energy panels, ŞEBGES (Grid-Connected Solar Energy Electricity Production System), forest mechanization and vehicles. With this support, citizens living in forest villages will be able to gain economic independence and create sustainable sources of income.
As of 2024, 2626 people have benefited from ORKÖY support within the scope of İDOP. These people got 318,050,000 TL through financial support. Thanks to the support, citizens living in forest villages are provided with more secure and sustainable sources of income, while regional and rural development is also supported.
As the General Directorate of Forestry, we will continue to take crucial steps to create economic opportunities and improve the living standards of our citizens in forest villages.
