We Responded to 263 Fires in the Last 3 Days

Over the past three days, 263 forest fires have occurred across our country. Thanks to the intensive efforts of our teams, 259 of these fires have been brought under control, and our interventions continue without interruption for the remaining active fires.
One of the biggest challenges in our fight against the fires is the high wind speed, which negatively affects the operations of both ground and aerial firefighting units. Despite these difficulties, our teams continue to respond tirelessly from both land and air.
Unfortunately, the vast majority of the recent fires have been human-induced. For this reason, we expect greater sensitivity from our citizens, especially during periods of high fire risk.
As the General Directorate of Forestry, we remind everyone not to light fires in or near forested areas, not to burn stubble or garden waste, not to throw cigarette butts on roadsides, and to keep in mind that even the smallest spark can cause large-scale fires.
Protecting our forests is a shared responsibility. Please be vigilant—let’s protect our green homeland together.
